Best time to visit and the weather like on the trek?
In winters:
In winter, the landscape transforms dramatically covering the region in pristine white snow, making it nothing short of a snow paradise. It gets really cold in December; the temperature goes down to – 8 degrees Celsius at night. But during the daytime the temperature swings between 7 to 12 degrees. During winter it gives an abundance of snow hence trekkers come to experience the snowfall and spend some peaceful time as the entire landscape turns white. At high-altitude camps, the temperature is comparatively lower accordingly we advise you to carry your layers and warm clothes to keep you comfortable against harsh cold. Therefore, one should trek in winter to see the snow, the best time is from December to March end.Â
One gets to witness beautiful frozen lakes – Bekaltal and Brahmatal. These high-altitude scenic lakes make this trek worth visiting if you are planning to visit in winter.
In spring:
The trail is abundant with Rhododendron blossoms while the last patches of snow start melting. Â The entire route is covered with beautiful flowers which outshine the valley in different colours. Beautiful red and pink rhododendron flowers in the meadows are visible en route. The weather is pleasant and heavy woollens are not required. The temperature during the daytime is approx 15 to 21 degrees Celsius and at night it hovers from 0 to 5 degrees Celsius. Other treks which also have the Lohajung as the base camp are the Ali bedni Bugyal trek and Roopkund trek which you can combine if you have more days to spare.
In summers:
In summer, everything turns yellow and green in contrast to what you will see in winter when everything will be white. The temperature is mild and pleasant; it remains from 10 – 20 degree Celsius whereas at night it falls between 5 to 7 degrees.
After the compression between summers and winters, the Brahmatal trek is considered the all-time best trek to do in winter. The answer is the snow, which is an indescribable experience for adventure lovers.
