How Difficult is Adi Kailash Om Parvat Yatra?

The Adi Kailash and Om Parvat Yatra is generally considered to be of easy difficulty. Here’s why:

Previously, this trek was quite difficult due to undeveloped roads. However, now that jeep transportation covers most of the route, the journey has become much more accessible, especially for older or less fit pilgrims. The remaining trek distance is just 4 km from Jolingkong (Adi Kailash Base Camp) to Parvati Kund and back.

Despite the improvements, the trek still presents some challenges. There are steep ascents and descents, and the roads can be rough and unpaved. At Jolingkong (Adi Kailash Base Camp), you’ll be at an altitude of about 4,572 meters (15,000 feet), and at Nabhidhang (Om Parvat Base Camp), around 4,300 meters (14,107 feet). This high altitude can cause altitude sickness and make walking difficult, particularly for elderly pilgrims.
